Will Fox News ever stop fellating Paul Ryan?
Seriously, every time I go to news.google it's another Fox News story doing just this.

Don't they kind of have to for damage control? He's hugely unpopular amongst those that care about Medicare existing, or women being thrown in the street if their pregnancy will kill them or wanting in vitro fertilization.

Hell, he's hugely unpopular among Ayn Rand fans now that he suddenly doesn't like her.

No, because the only way that Paul Ryan makes any strategic sense for someone who already has the nomination is that the veep pick was outright sold to Rupert Murdoch.
"But transportation issues are social-justice issues. The toll of bad transit policies and worse infrastructure—trains and buses that don’t run well and badly serve low-income neighborhoods, vehicular traffic that pollutes the environment and endangers the lives of cyclists and pedestrians—is borne disproportionately by black and brown communities."
I did see a clip of him on Fox News the other day, courtesy of the TV at work set to MSNBC.
It was his birthday, and they brought him a cake with a big dollar sign on it. And said it was the federal deficit and he could cut it.
Fellate doesn't even begin to describe it.

He jumps like a damned dragoon, and charges into battle fighting rather insane monsters with little more than his bare hands and rather nasty spell effects conjured up solely through knowledge and the local plantlife. He unerringly knows where his goal lies, he breathes underwater and is untroubled by space travel, seems to have no limits to his actual endurance and favors killing his enemies by driving both boots square into their skull. His agility is unmatched, and his strength legendary, able to fling about a turtle shell big enough to contain a man with enough force to barrel down a near endless path of unfortunates.

I think his former relative obscurity might be a reason why he's getting so much media hype.
Which makes this, from an article that yours linked to, especially hilarious:Ancient History wrote:Hell, he's hugely unpopular among Ayn Rand fans now that he suddenly doesn't like her.
I think he'll get along with Romney just fine.Key differences between Paul Ryan and Mitt Romney wrote:[Ryan] prides himself on being philosophically consistent and passionate about his ideology.

No. That is literally part of their fucking job- backing the Republican crazy by any means possible.Surgo wrote:Seriously, every time I go to news.google it's another Fox News story doing just this.
Sure it'll stop: the very moment he stops being relevant (so, Mittens dumps him for someone prettier, they lose the election, whatever) they'll drop him and forget he ever fucking existed... and then move onto the next guy to harp on about.

Emphasis mine. So, what is Francisco d’Anconia’s speech?Paul Ryan wrote:It’s so important that we go back to our roots to look at Ayn Rand’s vision, her writings, to see what our girding, under-grounding principles are. I always go back to, you know, Francisco d’Anconia’s speech (at Bill Taggart’s wedding) on money when I think about monetary policy. And then I go to the 64-page John Galt speech, you know, on the radio at the end, and go back to a lot of other things that she did, to try and make sure that I can check my premises so that I know that what I’m believing and doing and advancing are square with the key principles of individualism...
His monetary policy is that he doesn't believe in fiat money and doesn't think the state has any business issuing currency. That is batshit fucking insane.Francisco d’Anconia’s speech, by Ayn Rand wrote:It is not the moochers or the looters who give value to money. Not an ocean of tears nor all the guns in the world can transform those pieces of paper in your wallet into the bread you will need to survive tomorrow. Those pieces of paper, which should have been gold, are a token of honor – your claim upon the energy of the men who produce. Your wallet is your statement of hope that somewhere in the world around you there are men who will not default on that moral principle which is the root of money...

So he can't be bothered to check a source he regards as gospel for page count?
Ok sure, maybe he has a different edition of the book than I do. But if things are different in editions, then why attach numbers to them at all? He coulda just said "John Galt's speech near the end" and everyone who cared woulda known. But he did attach number -- which means that if he wasn't pulling numbers out of his ass, then he was assuming everyone had the same edition he did. So in that case he was assuming that everybody was on the exact same page (literally) he is.
Neither failing to check numbers nor assuming a homogenous society are conductive to any sort of discussion of monetary policy.

Nah. Paul Ryan is a 'reasonable' shill for the American overclass like Jon Huntsman and for some reason (hint: it's cupidity) the corporate whore media decided that he's a big idea man with serious ideas on reducing the U.S. budget deficit. Ideas which just so happen to empower the corporate whore media's owners. Anyway, his Ryan Budget kinda-sorta caught on fire as a forced meme the last time he was in a news cycle so the corporate whore media is hoping to have lightning strike twice.Darth Rabbitt wrote:I think his former relative obscurity might be a reason why he's getting so much media hype.
Josh Kablack wrote:Your freedom to make rulings up on the fly is in direct conflict with my freedom to interact with an internally consistent narrative. Your freedom to run/play a game without needing to understand a complex rule system is in direct conflict with my freedom to play a character whose abilities and flaws function as I intended within that ruleset. Your freedom to add and change rules in the middle of the game is in direct conflict with my ability to understand that rules system before I decided whether or not to join your game.
In short, your entire post is dismissive of not merely my intelligence, but my agency. And I don't mean agency as a player within one of your games, I mean my agency as a person. You do not want me to be informed when I make the fundamental decisions of deciding whether to join your game or buying your rules system.
Isn't that an endorsement of communism right there? I mean, the men who produce are the labourers/working class/proletariat, and the moochers and looters would be things like land owners. Just saying, it sounds an awful lot like Rand (and therefore Ryan by association) is spouting communist talk.Francisco d’Anconia’s speech, by Ayn Rand wrote:It is not the moochers or the looters who give value to money...

It's not really communist talk.
It very clearly states that your worth as a person is based on the value of the workers you own, not based on the value of the work you do.
If anything, it's direct advocacy of wage slavery/the actual slave system in the south pre civil war, since it is literally premised on the idea that you own all the value produced by other people and don't really have to pay them for the actual value, only whatever nominal amount keeps them as your slaves instead of someone else's.
